Ten Highlights from this Motley Month
I. Italian Cappuccinos!
II. Meeting Gaga
III. Dinner at the Four Seasons Milano
IV. Dessert at the Four Seasons Milano
V. Meeting up with Paul in Milan (I've gone to school with him everyday since kindergarten, but now he's off studying in Florence--and I'm traipsing around getting blistered feet and drinking orgasmic hot chocolate...)
VI. Looking like a widowed dowager at Fendi... How did they know that was my spirit identity all along ;)
VII. Spending quality time with quality people (and quality monogrammed bags, to boot)!
VIII. Passing the model ahead of me on the Chanel airport/catwalk (I had a departing flight to catch, what can I say... Chanel Airlines waits for no man/woman)...
IX. Hanging with monks backstage at Prabal Gurung. At the opening of his SS16 show, the designer honored his native country of Nepal with a solemn prayer (chanted by these beaming fellows here) for victims of this spring's earthquake in Kathmandu. Using his runway as a platform, Monsieur Gurung succeeded in restoring public attention to the disaster. It would be nice to see more shows doing the same-- with such broad audiences and wide publicity, fashion houses have the power to influence not only what we wear, but how we think and feel as well.
X. Celebrating with street-hawker champagne under the Eiffel Tower with my bookers--all the while warding off other street hawkers heaping us with roses and then demanding we pay for them. Cheers to the first several weeks of my gap year! May they all be even half as eventful...
